The Cover Board oversees and manages the association's activities and operations and is responsible for creating the policy plan for their year, coordinating events and initiatives, managing finances, representing the association externally, and ensuring its overall success. They work closely with committees to organize educational, social and career-related activities, facilitate networking opportunities, maintain relationships with partners and sponsors, and promote the interests of the association's members.
Chair
As the Chair of Cover, your main task is to make sure the Board is running. You keep your fellow Board members in check, chair weekly board meetings and general assemblies, distribute tasks and take responsibility where necessary. Alongside these efforts, you work to ensure a comfortable working environment for your Board, where they can see each other not just as colleagues, but as close friends. You resolve the inner conflicts and are the first person to reach out to if a matter comes up. As the Chair, you take charge of leading, representing, and building a 30+ year-old association—you are the face of Cover!
Secretary
As the Secretary of Cover, your main task is to make sure your Board is completely organised. You keep the internal calendar in check so that the Board knows what is happening and when. You organise the Board inbox so that the Board know what is important to respond to. You take the minutes for the board meetings and general assemblies so that everything is thoroughly documented. And finally, you are in charge of the administrative records, dealing with new and leaving members, documents, and everything in between. As the secretary, you will build on your organisational skills and act as the Chair’s right-hand person!
Treasurer
As the Treasurer of the Cover, your main task is making sure the association does not go bankrupt. You ensure the association’s finances are up-to-date and that all debts, invoices, and other fees are paid for on time. You are additionally responsible for forming the yearly budget to properly allocate and distribute funds to committees, groups, initiatives, and more. To assist you in keeping the finances on track, every block the Audit Committee runs with you your finances to properly ensure a good job. As the Treasurer, while you will be buried in a lot of numbers, you can expect to become effective in your careful execution of the association’s funds!
Commissioner Of Internal Affairs
As the Commissioner of Internal Affairs (Intern) of Cover, your main task is about people, events, and fun. You are the connecting body between committees and the Board, so that any quarrels from either side can be discussed between you. Furthermore, you ensure that committees are filled, running, and doing their tasks. You can expect your daily duties to be checking in on the activities of the committees and updating the live year schedule, advertising and onboarding members with joining committees and promoting your association’s events religiously. As the Intern, you can expect a lot of year planning, a lot of promotion, and a lot of satisfying payoffs as you see each committee achieve their tasks!
Commissioner Of External Affairs
As the Commissioner of External Affairs (Extern) of Cover, your main task is the recruitment of sponsors and advertisers. You oversee contacts, and interests, and acquire companies to sponsor the study association so that Cover can have just a bit more money to spend on its members, events, and other activities. In return for a sponsor’s generosity, you monitor the fulfilment of the association’s obligation towards the sponsors, in the form of a workshop, lunch lecture, advertisement, vacancy listing, and more. As the Extern, you can expect a lot of meetings, but also a lot of chances to develop your professional network while also promoting the association’s external interests—you are the corporate face of Cover!
Commissioner Of Educational Affairs
As the Commissioner of Educational Affairs (Education) of Cover, your main responsibility is the contact with the university and maintaining the educational pillar of Cover. This involves having accurate knowledge of the parties that exist within the university, contacting them if Cover needs something from them and being approachable when they have a request for Cover. Organizing educational events is the most free part of the role, as you get to think of topics and new ways of doing educational events—this also requires collaboration with our brother associations. Being the Education is a broad task which allows you to fill your time with events or projects you are passionate about!
