CSS

It is time for THE biannual Computing Science student meeting (aka the CSS). During the student meetings you as a student can discuss several topics within your programme. Most of these discussions will address the courses that are taught in the current and previous terms. The student meetings provide you with an opportunity to directly discuss and share your concerns about the courses with others. Your opinion is of great value since you as a student took part in the course and know the ins and outs of what happens this term ! Do you think that there were problems, such as poor quality / insufficient lectures or a lack of feedback in between your assignments? You might also believe that there is nothing wrong with a course at all but have an opinion about some general points in the programme that worry you (such as a lack of computers and/or work space)? If there is anything at all please drop by during the CSS and share your thoughts!

Don't forget: positive thoughts are also much appreciated during the meetings. If you really think an innovative lecturer should get more credit for the effort he or she puts into his courses or if you think that an optional course is really worth taking and you wish to share this news with everybody, please come and share your opinion at the CSS.

The CSS is for students by students. We will also invite students that are part of the many boards within FWN (The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences) so that you as a student can directly talk to them and share your knowledge and feedback. The programme committee of the Computing Science degree will also be present. The discussions that take place during the CSS can be used to directly apply feedback to the courses: one of the main purposes of the CSS is to detect issues with courses as soon as possible, as to improve the course during its current run.

The CSS will be on Monday the 16th from 15:00 to 17:00 in room 5172.0133 (Linnaeusborg). Feel free to drop by anytime within this time frame. The CSS is open for all students (first years till graduation). We will arrange for some traditional dutch snacks and drinks appropriate for the time of the year. Even if you do not have any direct feedback, it might still be useful for you to be there. You will hear the opinions of others and will be given the opportunity to participate in discussions with other students throughout all the different years of the degree.
