Graduate Lectures
Event information
What will I be able to do when I'm done? All the companies at the BBD didn't interest me at all, so what should I do?
It isn't an exception when a student of CS or AI isn't sure about his or her future line of work. Sometimes this uncertainty can lead to stress and lack of motivation to study. To help students find out what they want to do when they're done with their studies, the StudCie introduced the graduate lectures. This event consists of a series of lectures that are given by people who have graduated their CS or AI study.
The programme of the day is as follows:
13.50 - Introduction
14.00 - Martin Klomp - Consultant at Alten, is now working on a project at Shell.
14.40 - Presentation about the professional use of LinkedIn given by Talent Career Center (TCC).
- Break -
15.35 - Alumnus Rick van de Zedde - Works at Wageningen on intelligent food systems using robotics and computer vision
16.05 - Jan Kazemier - Works at TNO here in Groningen, specifically in projects for the ministery of defense
- Break -
17.00 - Laurens Feenstra - Product Manager at Google, he will give his presentation via Voice Chat as he lives in the US.
- Conclusion
- Borrel
During the lectures, the alumni will talk about the development of their career, what choices they made and why they made them. The lecture given by TCC will be about LinkedIn and how you can use it professionally and broaden your network.
As mentioned above, there will be a borrel to conclude the day. During the borrel it is possible for students to ask more specific questions to the alumni and gain more insight in the possibilities of their future careers.
If you want to know about the choices students have made before you, then this activity is very useful to you.
If you have any questions and/or remarks, don't hesitate to send an e-mail to studcie@svcover.nl!
