Denis is a 13-year Google vet and a 28-year industry vet who’s focused on storage in his career. Prior to Google, Denis worked on distributed enterprise storage systems. After joining Google, he worked on Colossus for 6 years, focusing mostly on improving storage efficiency. In 2017 Denis joined the Google Cloud Storage team, and after spending a few years in the trenches focused on improving GCS’s reliability, has served as the uber Tech Lead for GCS for the past five years, helping the team push the envelope on scalability, performance, and developer velocity. When not at work, Denis often gets lost in the Sierra Nevada mountains in California.
