Believe it or not, we "captured" the image displayed on the banner! Well, the NOAA-19 Satellite did, and while it didn't have Chippy on board, we definitely received the data!

You can receive pictures like this too! Join us for a 3-hour event that includes an hour of theoretical instruction, where we'll explain the basics of antennas and using a Software Defined Radio (SDR). After that, we'll spend 2 hours building an antenna and hunting satellites to extract whatever they’re currently transmitting! We're going to be sitting outside for a while!

You can leave with your very own SDR receiver, which can receive everything from your thermostat's data reports to satellite images and even pilot chatter! You'd be surprised at how much unencrypted traffic is out there, just waiting to be decoded!

What do I need to bring?

  • Your laptop (you need a USB-A port for all of you Mac users)

  • A Philips screwdriver - we'll also bring some

  • A friend, possibly?

What do I get?

  • A 2m portable dipole antenna that you'll build yourself!

  • A cool device you can use to listen to a wide range of signals.

  • A picture from a satellite (hopefully)

  • A friend, possibly?

How much?

When it comes to prices, you get to keep everything mentioned above for the price of 35 euro! If you're not ready to make the investment, you can join and rent the SDR device for 5 euro!

We are offering the option for two people to sign up together! Just have one person sign up and mention the other's name in the designated field of the form!

Just a heads up - the RTL-SDR is an incredibly cool piece of tech, and you might find it hard to decide who gets to keep it ;).
