Learn about secure data collaborations, emerging AI threats, and the future of cybersecurity.

Curious about how advanced technology is used in cybersecurity research and practice? Join us on April 29 for a lunch lecture by TNO, from 12:00 to 13:00.

During this lecture, Peter and Daan from TNO will share more about their work in cybersecurity and emerging technologies.

Privacy Enhancing Technologies - Ensuring secure data collaborations

Peter will present an introduction to Privacy Enhancing Technologies - tools and techniques that allow data to be processed, analyzed, and otherwise used while protecting data confidentiality and privacy. These technologies make new and more secure data collaborations possible. During the session, Peter will explain the intuition behind how these technologies work and what possibilities they offer, illustrated with several use cases.

Agentic AI used by Hackers

Daan will talk about Agentic AI: semi-autonomous AI systems capable of planning, adapting, and executing multi-step tasks with minimal human input. When used by malicious actors, these systems can pose a significant threat to enterprises and institutes by enabling higher levels of automation, scaled-up cyberattacks, and persistent attack campaigns. The talk will include several examples, a look at relevant technologies, and predictions for the future.

Whether you are interested in security, machine learning, cryptography, or applied research, this promises to be an interesting look into how these fields come together in practice.
