With the Self Driving Challenge, the RDW offers students from all over the Netherlands the opportunity to develop their skills in smart mobility. This year, a total of 9 student teams compete against each other by driving their self-driving vehicles on the circuit.
The finale consists of various in-circuit experiences in the field of autonomous driving. Vehicles will be required to stop for a red traffic light, yield to a crossing pedestrian, adhere to speed limits and conclude the race with parallel parking. Like last year, the challenge will be hosted by the Huge Car Guy, Roland Tameling.
They have a smaller shuttle bus that will be driving between Lelystad Centraal and the RDW location. Friday morning this bus will drive from Groningen to RDW Lelystad and from there on out will be used as a shuttle bus. If you want to join the bus from Groningen to Lelystad, please email extern@svcover.nl. Otherwise, you can come by own transport and/or shuttle bus.
